mouse minder
Why Mouse Minder exists

I was tired of checking empty traps.

After a Christmas trip, I came home to a mouse that had been sitting in a garage trap far too long. I did not need a smarter trap. I needed the traps I already owned to tell me when they had fired.

From circuit board to ready trapBuilt simply. Assembled precisely.
01 · ATTACH

Keep the trap you already use.

Each sensor comes with a clip for common wooden snap traps and a zip-tie mount for other setups. The mount sits below the trap without replacing its mechanism.

02 · DETECT + ALERT

One piezo does two jobs.

The piezo element senses the sharp vibration when a trap fires. Then the same part becomes the speaker while an LED flashes. Short alerts stretch the coin cell instead of wasting power between events.

03 · MODIFY

Open source for other jobs.

The sensor design and enclosure files are published on GitHub, so makers can adapt Mouse Minder for specific jobs beyond mousetraps—like door-open alerts or animal-tamper sensors.
